Kingdom Hearts 3 – Nomura Reveals New Information About Keyblades’ Transformation Patterns

Transformation depends on the Keyblade.

Square Enix recently revealed some new screenshots for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III, and director Tetsuya Nomura has recently been talking about them with Japanese gaming mag Famitsu to share some new information on the game.

Nomura was asked about the Keyblades and their transformation patterns, and which Keyblade specifically it is that does that. In response, Nomura went into detail, and said, “The Keyblades we’re currently making have two transformation patterns. It should be noted that similar to the Keyblade that transforms into a tank and shield that we showed this time, there is not always a division of attack and defense.

“The Keyblade that appeared in the previous trailer transforms into a pair of crossbows for each hand and a bazooka,” he continued. “How a Keyblade transforms depends on the Keyblade.”

You can check out the new screenshot (and some brief analysis on it) for Kingdom Hearts 3 through here. The game is scheduled to launch for the PS4 and Xbox One but is currently without a release date. Stay tuned for more updates.

Thanks, Gematsu!
