For a long time, Kingdom Hearts 3 has been one of the major, upcoming console games that has been anticipated by all players in Japan- however, as the game’s release slips well into next year, and as other, long awaited games, such as Persona 5 and Final Fantasy 15, approach release, it appears as though interest in the third numbered entry in the Square and Disney crossover franchise seems to be dwindling by comparison.
In the latest weekly Famitsu charts, Kingdom Hearts 3 is ranked at only number 9 on the most anticipated games list- it has been beat out by perennial chart topper Final Fantasy 15, which has a very convincing lead, followed by Persona 5 in a very comfortable second place, and then Final Fantasy VII Remake, the 3DS and PS4 versions of Dragon Quest 11, the PS4 version of Dragon Quest Heroes 2, Pokemon Sun and Moon, and finally, Ace Attorney 6.
In a lot of ways, this is just the way these things go- and I bet that as the release for Kingdom Hearts 3 grows closer and closer, it will steadily climb up in these charts too. For now, though, it is FInal Fantasy and Persona‘s time to shine.
