Do it for the fans' sake!

Kingdom Hearts fans are doubtless all too familiar with the work of Utada Hikaru, the man behind the theme of Kingdom Hearts. For years, they have been waiting on confirmation that Hikaru will return to work on the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3, especially since his status on the game’s development team was thrown into jeopardy owing to conflict over payments from Disney.

Earlier today, Utada Teruzane, father and manager of Utada Hikaru, said on Twitter that Hikaru would be working on the theme of Kingdom Hearts 3, sending fans in a tizzy- that would truly be perfect after all. But whether because of an NDA, or because he had truly been mistaken, Teruzane has since amended his statement to note that while Hikaru is ‘eager’ to work on Kingdom Hearts 3, his involvement on the game is not official yet.

Which I would take to mean as them having jumped the gun and having announced it earlier than the terms of their contract permit them. At this point, I want to argue that he is actually on board, and that we will learn about this at some major event some time soon.
