Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning File Size is Just Under 30 GB

A hefty increase over the original release.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning will be giving audiences the chance to revisit (or visit, as the case may be) a true cult classic in a couple of months, and as we build up to its launch, new information on the game is beginning to emerge- for instance, its file size. As per the game’s Microsoft store listing, the game will require 29.97 GB of free storage on your console.

That’s a pretty big number for a remaster of a nearly decade old game, especially when you compare it to the original release of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, which had a file size of under 7 GB. Of course, the remaster also comes with all post-launch content made for the original game, but even so, that number would suggest that the touched up assets are going to be heavier than you’d ordinarily expect in a remastered release.

Originally due out in August, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning will release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 8. It will also be receiving a completely new expansion in 2021.
