Kirby and the Forgotten Land

As leaked by Nintendo’s Japanese website recently, a new Kirby title is on the way. It’s called Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and releases in Spring 2022 for the Nintendo Switch. Everyone’s favorite pink puffball is back and this time, he’s exploring abandoned structures from a past civilization, teeming with mystery. Check it out in the first trailer below.

The trailer seems to indicate an open world structure, if nothing something akin to Super Mario Odyssey. Kirby can freely move around in 3D areas, using familiar abilities like hovering and battling all kinds of foes. He can still eat and absorb different powers including the Sword. At the end, we see a large gorilla-esque boss that must be dealt with.

All in all, this is a pretty big comeback for the hero and looks to be an enticing new platforming adventure, even for non-Kirby fans. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay in the coming months.
