Nintendo has confirmed in the latest edition of Nintendo Direct that Kirby: Triple Deluxe will be releasing on the 3DS in Japan on January 11th 2014. Originally called just “Kirby 3DS”, Kibry: Triple Deluxe is now the final name for the game. A teaser site has also been added, which you can check out here. Triple Deluxe will retail ¥4,800.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe will be a traditional platformer where Kirby will be able to suck up enemies and absorb their powers. However, in a new twist, you can jump back and forth between the foreground, main screen and background. Some objects will only affect you in certain planes, while enemies may attack you from another plane with no ability to fight back. But yes, the “triple” in the title indicates the 3 planes.

Stay tuned for more details on a Western release for the handheld in the coming months. What are your thoughts on the game? Let us know below.
