Koei Tecmo, the company behind the likes of Rise of the Ronin, Nioh, and the Dynasty Warriors series (among others), says it intends to double down on the AAA console and PC market going forward.

Reported by Automaton Media, during the company’s recent Q&A briefing with investors, it was confirmed that Koei Tecmo “expects the console and PC game market to grow” thanks to new hardware releases (something that it did not elaborate on), while on the mobile front, the company isn’t expecting any “significant growth”.

As such, Koei Tecmo intends to “steadily produce AAA titles” and says it will prioritize “yearly releases of major titles”. As part of that, the company is also going to double in size, growing from 2,500 employees to 5,000.

Earlier this year, the company said it had established a new in-house studio that would be focused on developing AAA games. Read more on that through here.
