Kojima Productions has no plans for Metal Gear Rising on the Wii U

But a PC version is possible.

Many of us would be hoping to see Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on the Wii U sometime in the future, considering that it’s a pretty big third party game. But unfortunately, Konami and Kojima Productions have no plans to bring the upcoming action adventure title to the new Nintendo home console.

When asked about a possible Revengance port on the Wii U by Eurogamer, Producer Yuji Korekado said that Kojima Productions has no plans for any such project.

“We aren’t currently thinking about that,” he said. “One of the strongest appeals of the Wii U is the GamePad. However, we’ve constructed Metal Gear Rising so you can fully enjoy the game on the controllers whether it’s on the PS3 or the Xbox. So, currently we aren’t thinking about Metal Gear Rising on the Wii U.”

Well, the Wii U GamePad does have all the input methods of the PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers, and then some more, so this doesn’t seem like a very good reason for not bringing the game over to the Wii U.

And does this close the door on a Ground Zeroes port for the Nintendo console too? Yeah, they’re developed by different teams completely, but you’ve got to wonder.
