And the resemblance to everything Metal Gear Solid.

There have been tons of rumours recently that The Phantom Pain, the new game by what is probably a non-existent studio called Moby Dick Studios, is actually Metal Gear Solid 5, and Hideo Kojima, the creator of the series, is just pulling a massive troll on us like he so often does.

And he now has said a few interesting but vague things about The Phantom Pain’s trailer. When asked by IGN if he had seen it, Kojima laughed and said: “Yes, yes I have. I really liked it.”

“It was very visually appealing,” he said. “The lighting was very good.”

When asked about what he thinks of the main character being shown in The Phantom Pain’s debut trailer looking so much like Snake, Kojima laughed yet again, and then said quite cryptically: “It might have been an inspiration…”

You are an evil sadist, Kojima-san. But if this truly is MGS5, you’re also a genius. Well, we know that already.

We did a huge article on why we think- or know- Phantom Pain is actually MGS5. Even Asian online retailer PlayAsia listed Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain on their site.
