Konami Announces Strong Earnings On The Back of PES and Super Bomberman R, Has ‘High Hopes’ For Gaming Industry

Will they pay more attention to the games market now?

A few years ago, it seemed like Konami was on the cusp of leaving the gaming industry, and pursuing other ventures. However, it seems like they’ve changed their mind since. In their newest financial report, Konami announced strong earnings on the back of games such as PES 2017 and Super Bomberman R.

Going forward, Konami sees the stronger performance of its mobile games, as well as this year’s PES 2018 to continue to bolster its gaming business. Of course, they may have more games in the works, too- after all, Super Bomberman R was announced and released out of nowhere. Plus next year, they also have Metal Gear Survive coming up.

These are all slim pickings, admittedly- but maybe the success of these games might convince Konami that there is a market for their games still, and might convince them to start investing in their beloved IP yet again. For now, you can pick up Super Bomberman R on the Nintendo Switch- it’s actually pretty good now, after all of their updates.
