Back in May, news got out that Konami is looking rather hard at becoming a company that spends a great deal of its resources on the mobile platform. So much was made of this news, as a matter of fact that there were some people who were worried the firm was getting out of a console and PC game altogether. While the firm tried to lay those fears to rest, saying it wasn’t going to only be focusing on Mobile, it now appears to be wondering just what direction it should be going.
Konami recently published a survey it wants fans of the company and fans of gaming in general to fill out, that will apparently help it decide what it should be devoting its resources to these days. Among other things, the survey asks people what titles that are less well known among the general public the survey taker has heard about. Once the user selects games they have heard of such as Castlevania and Bomberman they are asked to rate how they felt about those games.
Eventually questions such as “how interested are you in playing a relaunched version” pop up and it becomes obvious that Konami is either looking at putting out some remasters or maybe taking the older titles to the mobile platform. Either way, this kind of a survey seems to indicate the firm doesn’t have a whole lot of interest in new IPs right at the moment. We’ll just have to see what comes out of this survey.
