League of Legends is arguably the most popular free to play title in the world and is certainly a top MOBA title. With the success the game has received, will there be a sequel some time in the future? Riot Games environment artist Brent Critchfield shared his thoughts with Polygon and indicated that there wouldn’t be a League of Legends 2 any time soon.

Why? “I want my great grandchildren playing this game,” he said.

Well, it’s not just that. According to Critchfield, League of Legends will be receiving a regular amount of large updates that will help keep it fresh. And when LoL is currently so popular, why just throw it all away and start from the beginning with a sequel?

A sequel may happen some time in the future but it will be a long time off. Do you want to see a sequel or are you happy with League of Legends? Let us know in the comments.
