LEGO is seemingly making bigger investments in its video game business. In an interview with the Financial Times, LEGO executive Niels Christiansen revealed that the company is starting in-house development.

“We can say, as long as we’re under the Lego brand, we can cover experiences for kids of all ages, digital or physical. [Games development in-house] is something we’re building up,” said Christiansen.

LEGO has previously worked with game development studios like Traveller’s Tales, Guerrilla Games, and Epic Games. The most recent release under the LEGO banner was LEGO Horizon Adventures, which was released back in November 2024.

The company also has a long-term partnership with Epic Games through LEGO Fortnite.

Rather than focusing on competitive multiplayer, however, it offers LEGO Fortnite Odyssey and Brick Life. The former is a PvE game that involves up to seven players scavenging areas for materials to create bases and craft equipment, while the latter is a social life title.

It has also worked with 2K for racing game LEGO 2K Drive. A football game, dubbed LEGO 2K Goooal! is also seemingly under development.

LEGO Horizon Adventures recently celebrated its critical reception with the release of an accolades trailer. The title is essentially a LEGO-themed retelling of Horizon Zero Dawn featuring a more cheerful and whimsical open world starring Aloy and her friends. It also features the iconic robotic beasts from the Horizon franchise, albeit completely LEGO-fied. Check out our review for more details.

With this move, it is unknown if these collaborations will continue in the future. Stay tuned for updates.
