Well, the new trilogy of the Star Wars saga is done and over, and fans were… divided on it overall, I think it’s fair to say. Let’s not get into that can of worms, though, and focus on one thing almost everyone surely loves: Legos! Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was announced last year, spanning all nine mainline movies, with promises of it being more ambitious and bigger than previous entries. And when they said bigger, they meant it.

In an interview with StarWars.com, Managing Producer at Lucasfilm Games Craig Derrick talked about the wealth of characters in the game, revealing it would have almost 500 characters from the Star Wars saga. While he didn’t say how many will be playable, he did say “many” would be, with some big surprises.

“There are nearly 500 characters in this game, with many of them playable. When choosing characters for a game this large, we just looked at every film in the saga and tried to say “yes” as much as possible. That said, it often comes down to storytelling and the specific role of the character in the quests and game progression. Of course, we have almost all of your favorite heroes and villains from the films, many background players, a few surprises, and…Yaddle!”

“Many” is obviously vague, but considering the track record of Lego games, it’s likely going to be an impressive number. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see when the game launches later in 2020, but I imagine there will be a ton of little Legos to chose from.
