Life is Strange True Colors_03

The week will end with the newest Life is Strange title, True Colors, coming at us. This one is somewhat different than its predecessors as it’s being released as a single full retail release as opposed to episodically, but what we’ve seen of the game still oozes the same quirky charm with a hint of dark things hidden beneath that has made the franchise popular. It’s coming to a variety of platforms, including the PC, and now we know what kind of rig you’ll need.

As revealed via the official FAQ on the game, you can see you don’t need a beefy machine. Minimum requirements include AMD Phenom II X4 965, 3.40 GHz or Intel Core i5-2300 processor with Radeon HD 7790, 2 GB or GeForce GTX 750Ti, 2.80 GHz and 6 GB of RAM. Recommended only bumps things up to needing AMD FX-8350, 4.00 GHz or Intel Core i5-3470 3.20 GHz with Radeon RX 590, 8 GB or GeForce GTX 1060, 6 GB and 8 GB of RAM. Keep in mind, however, that if you want to run the game at its absolutely highest settings with 4K, cinematic quality aspects and ray-tracing, you will need a lot more juice as the minimum there includes Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 2500X with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080, 10 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, 16 GB and a full 16 GB of RAM.

Life is Strange: True Colors will release on September 10th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC and Stadia. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch at a later date. The game will also have a prequel story based around a key character releasing shortly after on the 30th, which you can read more about through here.
