As digital media continues to grow and become increasingly prominent, the games industry is now getting to a point where even some of the biggest developers and publishers are choosing to release some of their titles as digital-only games. One such upcoming release, it seems, is going to be Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
The same was seemingly confirmed by developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. Recently taking to Twitter via its official Western account, the developer issued a reminder of the game’s November release, mentioning that it’ll be “available for download” upon launch, seemingly indicating that physical copies of the game won’t be sold at retail, as reports suggested last month.
Sega or Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have yet to explicitly confirm the same though, while it has also been previously confirmed that the game will have a physical version available in Japan.
Like a Dragon Gaiden won’t be the only major upcoming release to not have physical purchasable copies. Previously, Remedy Entertainment confirmed that Alan Wake 2 will also be a digital-only game.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is due out on November 9 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
And next up to bat is…
