Magnetic: Cage Closed

Daniel Ström, CEO of Guru Games, recently spoke to GamingBolt on the matter of resolution and frame rate concerning games. In his own words, it’s quite a “hot topic these days”, as players come to expect more and more from their games hardware that seems to constantly not meet their expectations.

With Guru Games latest title, Magnetic: Cage Closed set to drop on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, he took the time out to let us know that the game will be running at 720p at 60fps on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Daniel said, “Framerate is always a hot topic these days, and naturally we have optimized the game to run as well as it can on consoles. We are not fans of the whole “cinematic experience”-thing that has been going around, so we aim for a smooth 60 fps throughout the game. We are most likely staying at 720p for this reason.”

Frankly speaking, not every game needs to be “cinematic” and most actually tend to suffer from trying to be like their big screen counterpart. Need I remind you of the recent mixed bag that was The Order: 1886? But what are your thoughts on this matter? Let us know in the comments section below.

On a related note, stay tuned for our full preview of the game later next week. Magnetic: Cage Closed. a first person puzzle game comes out next month on Steam and later on the PS4 and Xbox One.
