The first entry in Supermassive Games’ ambitious episodic Dark Pictures Anthology, Man of Medan, is coming soon. It promises a relatively short experience, but one that will have various options for different playthroughs. One way it does that is through characters and how they are affected by the choices you make, as actor Shawn Ashmore breaks down.

In an video interview with DualShockers, that you can see below, Ashmore talks about the character he voices and motion captured as, Conrad. He says that you can go through an entire playthrough thinking Conrad is a total tool, but depending on what choices you make, can break down the character and give you the ability to understand that character’s background and create a a softer persona, or can actually make him even more unbearable. You may think you have a character figured out on your initial playthrough, but going through again with different decisions could unveil a very different side to them.

Man of Medan is launching August 30th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
