Marathon

If you’ve been thinking about joining the world as it tries out Marathon ahead of its release on March 5th, the latest run clip from an internal playtest, showcased on the official YouTube channel, might tip the scales in its favor.

From its smooth movement and a level design philosophy that’s suitably complex for a game of this nature, working alongside some excellent gun mechanics and a great selection, Marathon is shaping up to be a great addition to the extraction-shooter genre. There’s a lot more to like in the latest run clip, with the Thief’s drone being a highlight as it maps out a very wide radius ahead of you and is even capable of crawling through vents to remain unseen. You also can’t discount just how great it is at grabbing any loot lying around.

Bungie must be quite confident in the game’s success, vowing to ban cheaters permanently while sharing other run clips ahead of the game’s release, and the upcoming Server Slam, which runs from February 26th to March 2nd. You can check out the entire clip below and begin to formulate your own strategy to dominate the battlefield ahead of the game’s release next week for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
