Nintendo has revealed several new details for Mario Kart World launching on June 5th for the Switch 2 at $79.99. The latest Direct highlights new courses, drivers, vehicles, and more. Check it out below.

The new courses include Mario Bros. Circuit, Crown City, Salty Salty Speedway, Starview Peak, Boo Cinema, Toad’s Factory, Peach Beach, and Wario Shipyard. Courses from past titles return but reimagined, and races can happen during the day and night.

While vehicle customization is gone, each has unique stats to provide a different racing experience. However, that also applies to drivers. Each page featured 12 drivers, and there are 13 pages in total, which implies at least 145 playable drivers.

While new power-ups like the Coin Shell and Feather were shown, there’s also the Ice Flower to temporarily freeze players and Hammer for lobbing hammers in an arc (which stay on the course for a short time). There’s also the Mega Mushroom for becoming bigger and crushing other players, and Kamek, who can transform your rivals.

Grand Prix Cup is also briefly showcased (more extensive gameplay here), but Nintendo teased that completing all the Cups causes Rainbow Road to appear. Knockout Tour, meanwhile, features seven routes with multiple courses for players to traverse as they battle against elimination. Finally, accessibility options like Smart Steering, Auto Accelerate and Tilt Controls return. Stay tuned for more details shortly.
