Yesterday, a leak claimed that Ubisoft would be announcing a sequel to their beloved Switch turn-based tactics title, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, at their Ubisoft Forward E3 showcase. Titled Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, that game has now been officially revealed- well, sort of. It seems Nintendo have mistakenly pulled the trigger early, and a page for the game with images and details has gone up on the official Nintendo website ahead of its announcement.

This time, you’re going to head on an intergalactic journey, and Mario has an excellent history with intergalactic journeys, so fans have reason to be excited.

“Team up with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi, and their friends on a galactic journey to defeat a malevolent entity and save your Spark companions,” the game’s page reads. “Explore planets throughout the galaxy as you uncover mysterious secrets and compelling quests!”

Once again, teams will be comprised of three characters of battle, with the roster have nine characters in total. There will also be all new bosses, “along with some familiar enemies throughout the galaxy.” Meanwhile, players will be tasked with rescuing Sparks, who will “provide distinct powers that will help you in battle.” Mechanics like dashing, team jumps, taking cover, and more will also return.

Some screenshots of the game have also been uploaded to the page. Check them out below.

According to the page, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope will launch some time in 2022. Ubisoft Forward goes live later today at 12 PM PT, which is where this announcement is likely to be made. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for all those updates and more.
