Marvel's Midnight Suns

Firaxis showcased a new trailer for Marvel’s Midnight Suns at Summer Game Fest, which unveiled new heroes like Spider-Man and “fallen” characters like Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Venom and so on. Thanks to a recent preview event, several YouTubers like ChristopherOdd managed to spend an extensive amount of time with the game. Check out his near 49-minute gameplay overview below.

Though the role-playing game hasn’t ditched its card-based mechanics, the combat at least looks more involved. The fight against Fallen Venom has some interesting challenges thanks to passives like “Join Us” which has a 50 percent chance to bind the next melee attacker, and “Supervillain”, which sees Binds and Stuns only lasting for one action. Some interesting combos abound, like Magik’s ability to create portals and knock enemies into different parts of the environment. Spider-Man should be a favorite since he can chain attacks to enemies, bind them and much more.

Other features include the Friendship System, the Light and Dark System (where you can choose different kinds of replies), Trials, Sparring, and much more. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is out on October 7th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC with the Nintendo Switch version coming later.
