Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered was a bit of a surprise when it was unveiled shortly before the PS5’s launch, but it was a very welcome surprise indeed. Insomniac Games put in a surprising amount of effort into touching up the open world action-adventure title and bringing its visuals up to scratch, but curiously, Sony made the decision to only make the game available as a download code to those who purchased Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition on the PS5.

But though the first game’s remaster hasn’t been available as an individual purchase up until now, that could change soon. Recently, individual game pages for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on the US and UK PlayStation Store websites added an option to purchase the game as a standalone product (for $39.99 and £44.99 respectively). It seems like that option has been removed since then, but you can see a screengrab of the same below, courtesy of VGC.

It’s unclear for now whether the option for standalone purchase was added erroneously, or whether it’s something that Sony eventually plans to make available to purchasers but mistakenly went live with prematurely. It would definitely make sense for the remaster to be a standalone purchase as well, so here’s hoping we see some development on that front soon.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is available on PS4, while the remaster is available exclusively on PS5. You can read our review of the latter through here.
