Mass Effect: Andromeda’s Quarian Ark Story Gaps Will Be Addressed Through New Novel

While players expected a DLC expansion, it is via this new book that fans can learn more about the Quarian Ark.

During the events of Mass Effect: Andromeda, a Quarian Ark broadcasts a warning signal stating that no one should approach it. Although the Keelah Si’yah was referenced many times during the course of the game, they do not actually feature in the main game itself. This led to many speculating that we would learn more about their story via DLC content. However, due to the really bad reception of the game itself, it was announced back in August that the game wouldn’t be receiving any additional content.

If you’re a person who’s  been wanting closure regarding the Quarian Ark, then there’s good news for you: a new novel titled ‘Mass Effect: Annihilation’ will fill in the gaps of the story. The novel is set to release in US, UK and Canada on June 26th, 2018 and on August 28th 2018 in Australia.

It is being written by Hugo award winner Catherynne M. Valente. The novel will detail what went wrong aboard the Keelah Si’yah. An official synopsis reads as follows:

“A pathogen is discovered aboard the ark after many drell are found dead in their cryo pods. As the pathogen jumpsspecies, the ship’s systems begin to fail, making it clear this is no accident.”
