Media Create Charts: Gran Turismo 6 Debuts on Top in Japan

Dragon Quest X boosts Wii U sales meanwhile.

The latest Media Create sales charts have arrived, and despite slow sales in the UK, Polyphony Digital’s Gran Turismo 6 managed to sell 204,784 units upon debuting in Japan.

Dragon Quest X: The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Sworn Friend Online also had some strong sales, releasing on the Wii and Wii U in the same week. It sold 117,432 units on the Wii and 70,648 units for the Wii U. The 3DS saw some strong sales as well, with Pokemon X and Y crossing 3.2 million units at retail with 111,790 units sold this week. Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind sold 93,471 units in its first week, with Inazuma Eleven Go Galaxy Big Bang/ Supernova selling 91,643 units in its debut.

The 3DS XL maintained its lead with 92,375 units sold this week, up from 82,409 units the week prior, with the Wii U selling 48,762 units, nearly double of last week’s 28,518 units. Despite a strong debut from Gran Turismo 6, the PlayStation 3 sold only 24,085 units this week. PlayStation Vita TV managed to sell 3,772 units, down from last week’s 5,391 units and thus continues its dive after a strong start.
