Metal Gear Solid 5 New Details: Wolf As Your Companion, Relationship Between Snake, Kaz And Ocelot Uncovered

Eye patches are cool, I'm going out to buy two...wait...

I’ve been saying it for years, and I hold firm in my belief that Hideo Kojima is a frigging genius-lunatic hybrid. How you you make on of the roughest, gruffest, most loved badasses in video game seem like an average guy? You give him an adorable little puppy and let it lick his face. That’s how. And we’re not talking about Call of Duty’s dog, I’m talking about the “I need to pet that, right now” type of dog.

Named DD (Diamond Dogs…get it?) our furry friend looks more like a wolf than a dog, but damn there’s a slow motion shot at 1:46 that just shows all the signs of how good old basic cinematography can be used to help easily work something into a narrative. By the way. The dog/wolf/whatever it is has an eye patch. That makes it cool, so deal with it.

In other news, Kojima has given a teeny tiny little bit of information regarding the characters motives in the latest MGS. He says, “Snake and Kaz are hungry for revenge, Ocelot is more neutral”

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out. Stay tuned.
