metal gear solid 5 the phantom pain september 1st release date

Well, this was supposed to happen tomorrow but it seems that we were right about what the big announcement could be. You guessed it right folks! We now have the final release date for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The game will launch worldwide on 1st September 2015 across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Announced by Hideo Kojima himself in this leaked video [see below], the game is a mere six months away from launch. It was speculated that the game will come out somewhere from July to September 2015 according to Konami’s latest financial reports and those speculations turned out to be right on the spot. In the leaked video, Kojima explains his vision about the game and why they need more time for polishing the game further.

“I always say this will be my last Metal Gear, but the games in the series that I’ve personally produced, Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, 4 and Peace Walker and now Metal Gear Solid 5 constitute a single Metal Gear saga. With Metal Gear Solid 5 I’m finally closing the loop on that saga. In that sense, this will be the final Metal Gear Solid. To me, this is the last Metal Gear Solid,” Kojima said.

At least we now have a definite release date. Now let’s just hope that there are no delays. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will be launching worldwide across last and current gen consoles. For more on the game check out our hub page here.
