Following many rumors, Konami unveiled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater at the PlayStation Showcase. Developed with Virtuos, it’s a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, but no release window was announced. In the meantime, fans can look forward to Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, which is out in Autumn 2023 for the “latest platforms.”
It includes Metal Gear Solid with the VR Missions/Special Missions, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The latter two are from the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection in 2011, so fans can expect additional content and quality-of-life features, not to mention Metal Gear 1 and 2.
While the “Vol. 1” tag would make you think that other re-releases of classic titles are on the table, Konami is seemingly hinting at the same on its official website. Under “List of Games,” it shows all three games in Vol. 1, followed by a “?” and “Stay tuned for more information.” The fact that the List of Games section is separate from Vol. 1’s titles is also worth noting.
Time will tell, so stay tuned for any potential announcements in the coming months.
