Konami has released a new minor update for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1. Numbered at version 1.4.1, the major feature of the update is that Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3, as well as all bonus content, is now compatible with the Steam Deck.

As noted by the studio’s announcement of the update, Metal Gear Solid, as well as Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, were already playable on the Steam Deck. The update primarily makes the last two games in the collection compatible with the handheld gaming PC.

The latest update comes shortly after the release of version 1.4.0, which brought with it new screen features for Metal Gear Solid. The update allows players to make use of smoothing, alongside adding new options for playing the game in Standard, Pixel Perfect, and 16:9 aspect ratios. The 16:9 option, rather than being proper widescreen support, simply stretches the Standard version across the screen.

There are also new audio settings for every game in the collection, allowing players to fine tune the volumes in-game as well as through the main menus.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. For more details, check out our review.
