After the official website for the game stated as much, Konami has finally confirmed that Metal Gear Survive will require a constant online connection. This applies to both the single-player and multiplayer modes in order to facilitate a “seamless” shift between the two.

Metal Gear Survive’s online connectivity requirements were built to support a seamless integration between single player and co-op. This will also enable us to provide ongoing content post-launch,” said Konami.

Microtransactions are also included in the game and players can acquire virtual currency using real world money or by through in-game actions. Considering that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain contained a hefty amount of microtransactions for its online modes, this seems fairly standard for Konami. Currency rates seen in the above image could change in the long run to keep that in mind.

Finally, Konami brand manager Jennifer Tsand revealed to GameSpot that the campaign could take 15 to 20 hours to complete. The beta for the game will begin on January 18th and run till January 22nd in case you want to test things out for yourself. Metal Gear Survive launches in full on February 20th in North America and February 22nd in Europe on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
