Metaphor ReFantazio

Another major title has been confirmed for The Game Awards 2023. The event’s producer and host Geoff Keighley recently took to Twitter to confirm that Metaphor: ReFantazio will “have something to show” during the showcase tomorrow.

The new fantasy RPG IP by Atlus is being developed by a new team in Studio Zero, which is led by the former creative leads of the Persona franchise in director Katsura Hashino, character artist Shigenori Soejima, and music composer Shoji Meguro. Atlus has said it intends to position it as its third major pillar alongside Persona and Shin Megami Tensei.

Shortly after its formal announcement earlier this year, it was confirmed that Metaphor: ReFantazio – which is due out at some point in 20224 – was in the polishing stages of development, which means there’s a good chance that an exact release date gets announced at The Game Awards.

When it launches, Metaphor: ReFantazio will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PC.
