While Studio Zero has a new livestream for Metaphor: ReFantazio coming next week, it released a fresh trailer for the fantasy RPG during Xbox @ Gamescom 2024. It showcases a variety of locations against the backdrop of various election candidates amassing votes. Check it out below.

Director Katsura Hashino also appeared during the stream to share more details on the optional activities. Traveling between locations on the Gauntlet Runner allows for interacting with allies (contributing to building Bonds and empowering Archetypes). However, you can also play a Chess-like game with them.

A “wide variety” of activities can also be discovered throughout towns and cities, with sub-quests ranging from cliff diving to monster-slaying. Additional sub-quests open up as you progress through the story. Finally, regarding the protagonist’s voice, Hashino said it’s to add more personality and reinforce the player’s connection to him. Check out the recently revealed English voice cast here.

Metaphor: ReFantazio launches on October 11th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
