Metro: Last Light “Survivor Series”: You Will Call me ‘Commander’

The latest in the live-action series of videos looks at the man who "closed the doors".

Posted By | On 07th, Dec. 2012

Though not an official sequel to the best selling novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky, 4A Games’ Metro: Last Light does attempt to continue the story of the post-apocalyptic first person shooter set in Russia, where mutants roam the streets and the only safe refuge are the miles of underground metro tunnels in the city. And if these live-action “Survivor Series” videos are any indication, they’re doing a bang-up job.

Our attention this time is drawn to a former Commander, who is beaten and tortured beneath the surface of a ravaged metro station. Flashbacks and cutaways indicate that the Commander was the one who gave the order to “close the doors” to the station, preventing any remaining survivors from entering. And no, they didn’t live happily ever after.

It remains to be seen how all of these characters will impact the main experience but it does help flesh out the game world that much more. Metro: Last Light is due to release in March 2013 for Xbox 360, PC, PS3 and OnLive.
