On the occasion of Xbox’s 20th anniversary, Microsoft had a lot of major announcements to make to commemorate the milestone. In addition to Halo Infinite’s surprise multiplayer launch, we also saw over 70 new games being added to Xbox’s backward compatibility program, and though this is going to be the last update to Xbox’s backward compatibility, it seems like Microsoft has gone out with a bang.
That’s because a number of these games also come with FPS Boost support, which adds the option to play these games at significantly higher frame rates than their original releases (via The Verge). To be precise, 11 of the newly added games support FPS Boost, while a number of previously supported games have also added the mode, for a total of 37 new games getting FPS Boost support.
The comprehensive list includes a number of games from franchises such as Dragon Age, Dead Space, F.E.A.R., Final Fantasy, Fable, Fallout, Gears of War, and much more. Where the latter is concerned, pretty much every single Gears release on the Xbox 360 (as well as Ultimate Edition) has received the boost. Other notable games on the list include Alan Wake, Assassin’s Creed, Binary Domain, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, Far Cry 3, Mirror’s Edge, Nier, and more.
