Microsoft Announces Xbox Quests Rewards Program

This is a great concept.

Microsoft’s focus has shifted to investing in its ecosystem of services, an keeping its userbase engaged with its products and offerings, all across the board- and this includes Xbox, too. This is why Microsoft’s Xbox initiatives, including Games with Gold, Mixer, backward compatibility, and cross platform play, are all geared towards player engagement and retention.

And now, Microsoft has announced another perk that is bound to keep people playing their Xbox- Xbox Quests, which will give Xbox players ‘quests’ and objectives each month to complete. If you complete these objectives, you can be entered to win prizes, such as a 55 inch Samsung 4K TV. It’s actually a really cool idea to keep players playing their Xbox through the month.

Objectives for this month include logging in to Mixer on five different days, increasing Gamerscore by 400 points, and downloading two Games with Gold- these are reasonably easy, all said and done. Will you participate in these quests? I hope that the concept takes off, I want to see Sony and Nintendo bring this over to their platforms too (though both of them have similar concepts via PlayStation Live and MyNintendo, but not on this level).
