Earlier today Microsoft confirmed that games downloaded for Xbox One via the use of the Xbox Live will have the same gamer score as games purchased at retail locations.

“On Xbox One games are games. All games follow the same policies for achievements and Gamerscore,” a Microsoft rep confirmed.

This change in policy was confirmed following a list of Halo: Spartan assault achievements that was posted to X360 A: The game, which is download only, was listed with a full 1000 point Gamer score for the upcoming Xbox One edition, while the Xbox 360 version has the standard 400 Gamer score which has been the norm with downloadable games thus far.

Microsoft had said before that there would be no difference between physical and downloadable games for the Xbox One, and this recent developments confirms that statement as true.

The Xbox One releases next week on November 22nd.
