Microsoft Is Investing Significant Money To Go All-in on Gaming: Report

Including on an Xbox One successor, and on several games.

Xbox One X

One thing we have been hearing for a very long time is that Microsoft takes gaming very seriously, and that they are investing money into it to go all in on it. Now, we have heard it again. According to a report by Thurott, Microsoft is investing significant money to double down on gaming.

To the report’s credit, nothing it says is outlandish- apparently, there is a new Xbox console in the works (this one will have GDDR6 in it, deeply integrated game streaming capabilities, and Xbox One systems will be forward compatible with games made for it), while also trying to double down on the investment on the games side. Microsoft is apparently investing a significant chunk of money on content development- but, again, the report does note it will be a while before the results of this investment bear fruit.

So, I guess… we will be waiting for a while. That said, while they are late on the uptake, if this report is true, I am just glad that Microsoft seem to have gotten the message.
