The Xbox 360’s cloud saving functionality kind of got screwed up last week. It wasn’t a major debacle, or even a notable issue. It wasn’t as if a hacker broke into the Xbox Live servers which went down for over a month because all the credit card information was stolen.

No, some of the people who were using cloud to save their games were reporting that their games are indeed not being saved at all, and that they’re losing their progress thanks to that.

Well, if you were a victim to that, rejoice! No, that’s not a weird thing to say. Becuase if Cloud screwed you over, Microsoft will offer you a one month extension for Xbox Live Gold services as compensation.

“We will be automatically applying a one-month extension to the Xbox LIVE Gold memberships of everyone who was impacted,” says Alan Garden, general manager of Xbox Live.
