Xbox Live Gold is free for the Weekend and the offer went live at 10 AM Pacific Time, April 19th and will continue all the way until 10 AM Pacific on Monday, April 22nd. This offer is only happening in North America, Canada, Latin America and Japan.

Starting today anyone who has a Xbox Live Silver account will gain full access to Xbox Live Gold features such as Video Kinect, Multiplayer online gaming, Party Chat and the rest of the entertainment features on Xbox 360 that usually requires a paid Xbox Live Gold account to work.

Major Nelson pointed out that this will be happening along with other gaming events this weekend. Call of Duty: Black Ops II will feature double weapons XP this weekend along with Double XP in Far Cry 3 and Assassins’s Creed 3.

For the rest of the details of this event, please check out Microsoft’s Major Nelson’s official blog.
