Microsoft have laid out their plan for consistent next-gen reveals for fans with their Xbox 20/20 events. The first of these came in May, revealing several games for the Xbox Series X, while another is confirmed to take place in July, where various first party games will be announced. According to a report by GamesBeat’s Jeff Grubb, however, Microsoft are also planning an additional event for June.
According to the report, Microsoft have another event planned for the second week of June, with the exact date currently planned to be June 10th (though it could shift to June 9th as well). The focus of this event is allegedly going to be the Xbox Series X- as in the console itself, where Microsoft will share more details about what it looks like and what its features will be.
Grubb acknowledges the incessant rumours of the cheaper next-gen Xbox variant, reportedly internally called Lockhart, but states that there’s no guarantees that it will be shown during the June event (or even if Microsoft have plans to release it for now).
Given how Microsoft have been releasing new information on the Xbox Series X on a regular basis, it makes sense that they might also be planning an event for June, and with their July showcase focused primarily on games, it stands to reason that they’ll focus on the hardware elsewhere. Of course, until such time we hear something from Microsoft themselves, we can’t be too sure of anything. Either way, stay tuned, and we’ll lee you know in case we learn anything else.
