Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft’s subscription service, Xbox Game Pass, has been steadily gaining popularity among audiences for some time now. Over the last year, the publisher has added a ton of high-value games to the service, several including day 1 releases for both first party and third party games.

In fact, according to a recent report published by The Loadout, in total, Microsoft has added around $6,300 dollars worth of games to the service throughout 2021. The prices are fetched from Microsoft Store base price listings. As per the report, March 2021 was the month that saw the most value being added to the service, with a number of Bethesda-published games joining Game Pass as part of Mirosoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax Media. Meanwhile, April was the lowest contributing month to this total number.

With games like Starfield, Redfall, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, Sniper Elite 5, and many other games on track to release next year day and date for the service, it seems that Microsoft will most likely continue this momentum going into the new year as well.

There’s been a lot of talk surrounding whether Xbox Game Pass is sustainable or not, although Xbox head Phil Spencer has ensured that it is very, very sustainable- read more on that through here. Interestingly, reports have also claimed that PlayStation is working on its own Game Pass competitor– if that pans out, it’ll be interesting to see what form it takes.
