Microsoft are forming a Test Intelligence team within their Xbox department. As the name indicates, the team will be analyzing user data and behaviour to evolve the way games are developed and produced at Microsoft Games Studios. At the official career’s site, Microsoft are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who has expertise in data analytics and telemetry.

The candidate will require to ‘manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques,’ and ‘apply statistical concepts and techniques to analyze experiments and user behavior.’ Using the team’s expertise, Microsoft aims to deliver magical experiences to their consumers.

Analyzing user trends and behaviour is a hot field not only in the games industry but also in other fields where one deals with millions of users at once. Microsoft may be using this data to further create dynamic simulations based on user behaviour something which we have already seen used in Drivatar feature of Forza Motorsport 5.

What are your thoughts on this initiative by Microsoft? Let us know in the comments section below.
