Microsoft Won’t Be Giving Free Xbox One X Kinect Adapters, Power Consumption Scales According To App

Microsoft are not going to do that anymore.

When Microsoft launched the Xbox One S SKU of their current home console, they gave away free Kinect adapters with every system sold for a significant period of time. However, they will be doing no such thing when the Xbox One X launches. Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg, who is the market head of the Xbox division, recently took to Twitter, and when he was asked if Microsoft will be packaging free Kinect adapters with the Xbox One X, he confirmed that the would not be the case.

In addition to that, we also have an update on the power consumption of the Xbox One X and how it will handle it across different applications and games. Albert Penello of Microsoft recently took to Twitter as well, and confirmed that the power consumption of the system will be scaled according to what game or app the system is running, and how much power it may have need of for it.

This means that while the system will be at maximum power consumption while running games, which is what you might have expected anyway, the power consumption would be significantly lower in the dashboard or while using applications such as Netflix.

The Xbox One X launches on November 7. Stay tuned to GamingBolt until then for more coverage.
