Microsoft: Xbox Game Pass Games Will Stay Up For A Long Time

"They're not leaving tomorrow."

Games on Xbox’s Game Pass program, which gives people access to free Xbox games every month, won’t be leaving before you’ve had the chance to play them- Microsoft have given plenty of thought to the rotation policy and it’s safe to say that you’ll be given plenty of time to play and enjoy the games that are available.

“I’m really excited to be able to talk to that,” said Senior Product Manager of Xbox Game Pass, Dennis Ceccareli in a post E3 interview. “Because I’ve definitely seen the message boards, I see questions, I see a lot of assumptions about, ‘hey, when will games be coming? When will games be leaving the catalog?’ So first I wanna talk about new games coming to the catalog. We talk about more is better, and that means always having something new to play. So on the first of every month, you’re going to see at least five new games enter the Game Pass catalogue- every single month.”

“Again, we’re really trying to give a great mix of games across different ratings, different experiences, different genres,” Ceccareli continued, “so no matter who you are, if you’re a Game Pass member, every single month there’s something new for you to play.” He then went on to address the issue of when these games will be leaving the catalog. “I think the bigger thing is when games will leave,” he said, before moving on to assure fans that the rotation policy had taken fans’ concerns into consideration.

“While there’s not one set amount of time that a game will be in the catalogue, and some titles will leave the catalogue eventually, I want to put some fears at rest because our first games won’t be leaving the catalogue until late November,” he said. “In reality, the vast majority of our games are going to be in there much, much longer than that so you’ve got plenty of time to play through the great experiences that are in Game Pass, engage with DLC, just really enjoy that content. It’s not leaving tomorrow.”
