Monolith Productions’ Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is the gift that keeps on giving as a new content update – the Power of Defiance – will be releasing today for the Xbox One, PC and PS4 versions of the game.

Players will receive a new Epic Rune for one more Last Chance opportunity in combat and a new character skin in the form of Lithariel. The real meat of the update comes via the Test of Defiance Challenge mode which sees you taking on waves of Warchiefs. The twist here is that you won’t be given any Last Chance opportunities or Wraith abilities to rely on. If that isn’t the definition of a painful time, we don’t know what is.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is currently available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well having released earlier this week. Stay tuned for more information on when the new update hits for these platforms.
