Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Story Trailer Reveals the Ring Maker

Guess who Talion's wraith is?

For all the criticisms against its gameplay and how it rips off games like Batman: Arkham Asylum and Assassin’s Creed, there’s no denying that Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor still has its story going for it. Taking place between The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, Monolith Productions has a vast lore of Middle Earth history to draw upon. The good news is they’re taking advantage of it, as announced in a new trailer for the game which reveals the identity of the wraith within Talion. Check it out above.

Essentially, it’s Celebrimbor, the man who made the Rings of Power for the various races within Middle Earth. He was duped by Sauron to create the same and eventually died when he wouldn’t reveal the locations of all the rings on Middle Earth (which eventually led to the War of the Second Age). Essentially, he’s an influential figure and it will be interesting to see how his role in the story with Talion plays out.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor releases on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4 on September 30th while the PC version is out on October 2nd.
