Comcept’s Mighty No. 9, led by ex-Capcom designer and legend Keiji Inafune, is almost finished. In a video released on Christmas Day but meant to celebrate the New Year, Inafune has revealed that production on the game is near completion and that the team will be moving towards the porting and promoting stage. Check out the video above which also showcases a small snippet of gameplay footage.
As a spiritual successor to Mega Man, Mighty No. 9 follows Beck as he battles eight “Mighty Number” units enroute to the final boss. Much like Mega Man, you’ll be operating on a 2D platforming base but with 3D graphics and shooting enemies while also jumping to navigate and avoid obstacles.
Mighty No. 9 is currently set to release in April 2015 for a wide variety of platforms including the Nintendo 3DS, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, Wii U, Linux and Mac OS X. What are your thoughts on the game thus far? Let us know below.
