Microsoft have been optimizing many of their big Xbox One first party releases for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S since the new duo of consoles launched in November last year, with the likes of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Gears 5, Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 4, and many other having received enhancements. The new game to receive such enhancements is Mojang and Double Eleven’s Diablo-style action RPG Minecraft Dungeons.
The game’s newest patch, update 1.8.0.0, adds several visual and performance enhancements to the game for the new Xbox consoles. On Xbox Series X, the game now runs at up to 4K and 120 FPS, while on the Xbox Series S, it runs at up to 1440p and 60 FPS. Mojang does state that the frame rates and resolutions for the game will be variable on both consoles, and will generally fall below their targets if you’re playing 4 player local co-op.
Minecraft Dungeons received its second season pass in December, while more content additions are also planned for this year.
