Sony has revealed that 4J Studios’ Minecraft: PS3 Edition will be arriving at retail within the next month, allowing many console players who haven’t had the chance to download Mojang’s open world sandbox to finally experience it for the first time. A new trailer has been released which showcases four player split-screen gameplay and up to 8 players online. Check it out above.

Minecraft: PS3 Edition will include all content from the PC version including Update 14. So you can look forward to Emerald, Jungle Temples, Zombie Villagers, trading with Villagers, an Anvil interface to allow you to name your own tools and weapons, and much more (insert Tower of Pimps reference).

We’re still waiting for the PS4 version of Minecraft, not to mention the Xbox One version which was announced at E3 2013. Will we see more definitive announcements at this year’s E3? Stay tuned for more information as the convention rolls around.
