Mirror's Edge Catalyst

DICE took the stage to talk about Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, the reboot to the first person parkour simulator which explores the origins of protagonist Faith. A new pre-alpha video was revealed which not only showcases the core gameplay but shows us just how Faith began her journey as a Runner. Check it out below.

The video itself showcases how Faith will traverse her environment, sneaking through vents and avoiding security to obtain some highly sensitive information. Movement looks a lot less awkward and more fluid than the original game which should help players chain together different moves easily. And of course there’s the combat which looks easier to manage than before.

If nothing else, the gameplay footage showcases how good the game looks in its pre-alpha stage. How it will eventually pan out when it releases remains to be seen but for now, it’s worth looking out for.

Mirror’s Edge Catalyst releases in March 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. What are your thoughts on the gameplay footage revealed thus far? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more information from EA’s Gamescom presser.
